A VERSE
“America’s not a country. It’s a corporation.”
Killing black boys a #1 occupation
Protect the wealthy
– translation –
Poor people got no place in this nation
Human rights forgotten on the plantation
Mythologized in the wake of integration
Lost on a globe full of frustration
- my inclination –
The journey within, the first road to salvation
No politics of inner transformation
My breath the ultimate vacation
POEM #1
As yet untouched, but caressed by sight.
Natural Black man, in lust with divine might,
Play me like your drum, become a slave to my delight.
Imagine making love,
On a balance beam.
Coconut curry,
Amaretto ice cream.
A shooting star - smooth, tender and precise.
A dream, sans vice.
I think it’s about time.
I got ready,
To roll the dice.
POEM #2
The mist has risen,
I awaken from the fog.
The light looks new,
More gentle, less blue.
The sun has shifted,
My line of sight lifted,
Resting in the comfort
The earth’s palm has gifted.
A THOUGHT
A new paradigm for capitalist engagement -
Destabilize big business, play on the playing field.
A mantra: Shop elsewhere.
