Writers' Residency
Lazuli Literary Group offers 1-week writers’ residencies in Woodstock, NY. Each residency involves group craft discussions, individual feedback from instructors, lodging, meals, and optional activities (art studio tours, astrological natal chart readings, nature hikes, etc.). Each retreat is limited to five full-time residents (room & board included) and six day participants (reduced cost).

- Rolling admissions. If you are interested in booking a retreat with us for Spring/Summer 2015, please include your preferred dates. Our 5-day retreats are held from Monday-Friday.
LOCATION
- Woodstock, NY is located in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York.
LODGING
- You will be given one private bedroom with full access to the kitchen, an outdoor area, and all common rooms.
MEALS
- Breakfast and dinner provided by local chef; specialized accommodations made for food preferences/allergies/restrictions.
- Ample restaurants and grocery options available for lunch and other meals.
- Access to full kitchen in-house.
TRANSPORTATION
- Woodstock, NY is a 2.5-hour drive or a $60 round-trip bus ride (Adirondack Trailways) from NYC.
RETREAT SCHEDULE
- Pre-retreat reading list suggested to each resident according to his/her project.
- Private feedback sessions about your project with one of the residency leaders (Diana or Sakina) each evening.
- One group meeting each morning. Each resident will set writing goals for the upcoming day and discuss progress from the previous day. This is a warm space to discuss writing concerns, consult the group for any process advice, and provide support and encouragement to fellow residents.
- The majority of the day is available to residents to spend their time in whichever way best serves their artistic processes.

COST
- Room & board included: $600 per resident.
- Companion rate: You may invite one friend to share your room for an additional $300.
- Day rate: $250 per resident for 1 week of group workshops and individual feedback sessions; lodging and meals not included.
PUBLICATION
- Each resident may submit one story/excerpt/fragment of work completed within the workshop for guaranteed publication in a special issue of AZURE, the online literary journal for Lazuli Literary Group.

We welcome both emerging and established writers who would benefit from community-style group discussions about craft and who would find value in the artistic atmosphere and solitude of an artistic town in the Catskills.
Submit 10-50 pages (or more, if you find it hard to consolidate!) of your published or unpublished writing. Include contact info (email and phone number required), a brief bio and/or resume, and a brief (or lengthy) description of the project you plan to work on during the residency.
